Training “The problem of water resources in Transcarpathia”

The training on “The Problem of Water Resources in Transcarpathia” held at the Transcarpathian Regional Local Lore Museum on International Water Day was a significant event aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues among students. The training, carried out by museum researchers and IRCEF experts Mykhailo Bilanych and Ruslana Dzhahman, gave invaluable insights into the region’s water resource concerns.

The participants, who were students from various Uzhhorod schools and members of the Korzo Student Government, engaged in a range of activities including a lecture on the topic, a presentation on water resources in Transcarpathia and International Water Day, viewing a local history video, and participating in an eco-educational didactic game on responsible waste management “Towards ZERO WASTE”.

The event concluded with a tour of the courtyard and expositions of Uzhhorod Castle. The training not only imparted knowledge about the importance of water resources but also encouraged students to adopt a conscious civic stance towards environmental issues. It is also intended to raise environmental consciousness among the younger generation by highlighting the importance of rational water consumption and proper disposal of waste.

The event was held within the framework of cooperation between the Interreligious and Civil Environmental Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) headed by Olexander Bokotey) and the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU BundesverbandNABU International), project coordinators  Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), and Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
