It was with deep sadness that the Interfaith Civic Environmental Forum of Eastern Europe received the news of the passing of Oleg Vasilyevich Luksha. This is a great loss for us.
Oleg Vasylovych was not only a well-known public figure, an active resident of Uzhhorod and Transcarpathia, but also a sincere friend, long-time partner, and like-minded ally in the development of the environmental movement in Transcarpathia, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe as a whole.
For many years, we were united by shared ideas, projects, and the desire to make our region more open, responsible, and environmentally friendly. His passion, energy, ability to find new solutions, and capacity to bring people together inspired many. Many of his thoughts, pieces of advice, and creative ideas contributed to the development of the Institute for Ecological and Religious Studies and the Interreligious Civil Forum for Nature Conservation in Eastern Europe.
We will always remember Oleg Vasylovych as a man who sincerely loved Transcarpathia, believed in the power of community, culture, and nature, and left a lasting positive mark on the hearts of many people through his life.
We extend our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, and the entire community for whom Oleg Vasylovych Luksha was an important part of life.
May his memory be bright and eternal.
