After a series of exciting eco-lessons, students of the 3rd grade of Yasinyanskyi ZZSO I-III st. No. 1 returned to the topic of bats to not only recall what they had already learned, but also to look at these animals in a new way.

Together with the primary school teacher with Hungarian as the language of instruction and IRCEF expert Maria Kesler, the students watched a scientific and educational film about bats, completed tasks from the workbook “Secrets of Church Towers”, and then revived their knowledge through creativity and play.

By composing dialogues and reproducing them with the help of hand puppets from the eco-theater set “Discover the World with Us”, the children learned to listen to each other, work in a team, express their own thoughts and overcome shyness. Theatrical elements made the lesson especially interactive, and the friendly atmosphere of creativity gave positive emotions and a sense of confidence.

During the lesson, the students also reflected on the responsibility of man for the preservation of God’s Creation. Through learning about the world of bats, they learned to value every living creature as an important part of the world created by God and to realize the need for a careful attitude towards nature. Creative activities and friendly communication became elements of nature therapy that contribute to the emotional well-being of children, develop sensitivity to the environment and help them feel harmony with nature.

Thus, environmental education becomes not just a transfer of knowledge, but a living experience that helps children better understand nature, themselves and their place in the world.

The event was held within the framework of the partnership of the Interreligious and environmental civil forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) with the Commission on Ecology of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese and the environmental protection units of the Churches, with the support of the Archdiocese of Bamberg (Erzbistum Bamberg).
