From January 1st, 2022, the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) is implementing a captivating project “Responsibility for Creation and Women of the Carpathians”, which aims to unite, and strengthen the potential of active women working in environmental education and upbringing, promote the principles of sustainable development in everyday life, confidently implement the ZeroWaste concept and inspire colleagues, like-minded people, schoolchildren and students by their example.
On May 11th, IRCEF Executive Secretary Oleksandr Bokotey (the project coordinator) shared the interim results of the project and invited the TRENCSY team to cooperate during a meeting of the teaching staff of the Transcarpathian Regional Ecological and Naturalistic Center for Students Youth (TRENCSY). In particular, it was agreed to jointly prepare and hold a competition for the best methodological development/idea (thematic lesson, eco-video, class, eco-game, eco-tale, thematic ecological-educational tour, etc.).
The purpose of the competition is to improve research and methodological support, improve the quality of extracurricular environmental and biological education for young students, the development of the creative potential of teachers, the extension of innovative achievements, and advance pedagogical experience. The main objectives of the competition are:
• improving the professional skills of teachers of general secondary and out-of-school education, developing of their creative potential;
• introduction of educational programs and teaching methods in the educational process of out-of-school educational institutions, focused on achieving educational goals in the interests of balanced (sustainable) development;
• creation of a bank of methodical materials on the organization of ecological and environmental activities for students;
• support of creative teachers of the system of out-of-school education institutions of ecological and naturalistic direction.
The terms and conditions of the competition and the list of nominations will be announced on the websites and social media of TRENCSY and IRCEF. The Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) expresses its sincere gratitude to the TRENCSY staff for their interest and willingness to participate in the project. We believe that by working together we’ll be able to support women who work in the field of environmental education and upbringing and strengthen the work on Responsibility for Creation because this is especially important during the war.
