Each season has its own characteristics: color, aroma, and mood. But the autumn is especially surprising with its unique colors. Autumn is also called golden, especially in October, when the leaves on the trees are colored in all kinds of colors – yellow, orange, red, deep crimson, etc. The riot of variegated colors in nature resembles a colorful farewell carnival before the onset of winter. With the aim of forming an ecological culture, developing observational skills, and aesthetic feelings, and fostering a love for the nature of the native land, on October 12, students of the TRENCSY were given an excursion to the “Malyatko” medical and health facility in the Uzhhorod district.
There is a large number of green plants, including coniferous and fruit trees, and even an artificial lake on the territory of the parking zone, a unique children’s sanatorium. Here, young nature lovers had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the changes that occur in living and non-living nature with the arrival of autumn. So, young people saw all the colors of the autumn landscape and observed the behavior of birds and insects.
Educator and expert of the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies, Oksana Kremin, held a discussion on “What happens in autumn?”. After that, the students were divided into groups, and presented mini-projects entitled: “Autumn changes in the life of animals”, “Deciduous and coniferous trees”, and “Inanimate objects of nature”. In this way, they summarized what changes occur in autumn. Children actively played outdoor games and collected colorful autumn leaves, acorns, and pine cones for crafts. They also took part in the “Clean environment” action, cleaning the parking area of garbage. Everyone gathered apples and pears from the orchard. Horse riding was a real blast for the children. An hour in an open riding arena in the company of an instructor and a 9-year-old mare named Arnica flew by in a flash. Children rode horses and listened to interesting stories about horses. An educational excursion in the fresh air benefited everyone. The children were real naturalists, having researched that autumn confidently reigns in our region, changing everything around.
The event was held within the framework of the project “Churches, religious and public organizations for the eco-education of national minorities”, which is implemented by the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (head by Alexander Bokotey) in cooperation with the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband NABU International ) with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Auswärtiges Amt #AA_Kultur #CivilSocietyCooperation ) project coordinators Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
