A round table was held on the basis of the visit-center of the “Synevyr” NNP, dedicated to the Day of the Nature Conservation Worker. Its purpose was: a discussion of the current state of nature-reserve affairs in Ukraine, awareness of the role of nature-reserve territories in today’s conditions, and their importance in the life of a human and society.
The round table meeting was attended by representatives of departments of the park, nature protection research departments of the Synevyr NPP, and other stakeholders. Everyone who was at this meeting had the opportunity to discuss issues related to nature protection, the activities of national parks, nature reserves, and their important role in human life and society. Special attention is paid to today’s events of the war, which is currently ongoing in Ukraine and has made adjustments to the work of various nature reserves, which force us to promptly make appropriate decisions regarding the protection and preservation of natural resources.
During the discussion of this topic, Mykola Derbak, the director of the Synevyr NPP, focused the attention on the effective cooperation of authorities, public organizations, and businesses, which as a result also helps and contributes to the solution of environmental problems, the implementation of an ecologically balanced system of nature use and preservation of ecosystems, guaranteeing eco-safety for people’s health and life.
The event was held as part of the cooperation of the Synevyr NPP with the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (head by Alexander Bokotey) in cooperation with the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband NABU International ), project coordinators Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
