On October 11, the Synevyr Lyceum hosted an ecological event in the form of a quest named “Learning to Distinguish Animals.” The main objective was to familiarize students with the classification of animals and the differences among them. Leading the session were IRCEF expert Lyubov Hrechyn and teacher Maria Fetko.
During the initial stage, each participant received a picture of an animal and was asked to provide information about it in any way they preferred. Other students eagerly joined, supplementing the discussion with their own knowledge. Following that, the students participated in the game “Guess Which Animal Is It?” Here, the teachers presented intriguing facts about different animals, and the children had to guess the animal being described, competing for accuracy and speed. The third activity, “What Movements Does the Animal Make?”, proved to be both engaging and entertaining. Everyone endeavored to embody the role of an animal and imitate its movements and sounds.
Thanks to this eco-quest, the children were able to recall the animals that inhabit their region, grasp their distinctions, comprehend their interactions, and acknowledge the significance of these creatures in maintaining the environment.
The event was held within the framework of cooperation between the Interreligious and Civil Environmental Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) headed by Olexander Bokotey) and the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband, NABU International), project coordinators Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), and Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
