A round table of IRCEF\’s ongoing activities

On March 25, a roundtable was held on the planning of IRCEF\’s ongoing activities, taking into account the consequences of an active full-scale war for both the population and the environment.

Russia\’s invasion of Ukraine is still ongoing, and the war is having dire consequences for the Ukrainian people. The world is watching in horror how criminal attacks on civilians and their homes, in Ukrainian cities and villages, increase in intensity and brutality. Putin\’s war is a crime against humanity, but it is also an environmental crime whose consequences are difficult to predict.

Transcarpathian region welcomes thousands of people who were forced to leave their cities due to active hostilities. Among the IDPs are the largest number of women and children in need of help and support in such difficult times. The IRCEF team cannot stay aside, so the participants of the round drew up an action plan and a list of activities that can be carried out for the children of internally displaced persons.

The round table was attended by:

• Mykhailo Bilanych, Iryna Shyshkina (representatives of the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe, IRCEF);

• Ivanna Trofimenko, Marta Mykhailets, Natalia Humen-Bilanych (activists, trainers in ecological field, volunteers)

The webinar was held in cooperation with the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) and the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU).
