Planting a tree of peace

The next environmental action was launched under this slogan on the basis of the training center of the National Pedagogical University named after M. Drahomanov, which reunited concerned adults and children of IDPs. The purpose of the action is to draw public attention to environmental issues, to form a respectful attitude to the environment, to increase the level of environmental awareness and eco-patriotism, and the desire to protect the nature of the native land. Continuing the good tradition, the administration of the training center under the leadership of the director Anatoliy Derbak organized the planting of trees on the territory of the training center and its surrounding areas.

45 residents of the training center have joined the tree planting of the young forest. Pits have carefully dug the roots of the seedlings plunged into the ground to begin the great life of the tree. More than 50 seedlings of coniferous and deciduous species were planted, which were taken from the forest nursery of the Synevyr National Nature Park (NNP). It is a good tradition to make a wish before planting a tree. But this year the wishes of all participants were not wordy, but sincere: victory, peace, and goodness. All participants had acted responsibly in planting the tree.

This year’s trees are special, as they were planted during the war and will leave memories of the present from each participant of different regions in Ukraine. They will symbolize our victory and peace in Ukraine. The environmental campaign was successful and confirmed that by joining forces, everyone can contribute to the landscaping of our country. In general, such events in the Kvasovets tract are traditionally held annually. Synevyr NNP calls on all concerned people to save nature and join the environmental action – to plant their tree of peace.  You show a position for PEACE, becoming part of the World Action by joining the initiative!

The event was held in cooperation with the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (headed by Alexander Bokotey) with the support of the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband, NABU International), project coordinator Ivan Tymofeiev.
