On November 15, the Synevyr community village library hosted an enlightening educational class for children, delving into the theme of “What Changes in Nature Occur in Autumn.” The session, led by Lyubov Grechyn, an expert from the Interreligious and Civil Environmental Forum (IRCEF), aimed to provide young learners with insights into the transformations nature undergoes during the autumn season.

The event unfolded as a dynamic exploration of how living beings adapt to the impending winter, preparing for the colder months and making provisions for the challenges ahead. Through the use of the educational board game “Learning about Flora and Fauna by Playing,” youngsters took an active part in recalling and talking about the names and traits of numerous plant and animal species that may be found in Ukraine throughout different seasons.

Lyubov Grechyn, the IRCEF expert, directed special attention toward the wintering habits of birds, recognizing their vulnerability during the colder months. Through captivating visual aids and images, students gained insights into the challenges birds face as warm days give way to autumn winds and cold temperatures. The session emphasized the crucial role people can play in aiding the survival of birds during winter.

The event was held within the framework of cooperation between the Interreligious and Civil Environmental Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) headed by Olexander Bokotey) and the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU BundesverbandNABU International), project coordinators  Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), and Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
