According to a new analysis by US researchers, the last five years have been the warmest for the oceans, according to The Civic, citing The Guardian. The amount of heat that gets to the ocean is equal to the fact that every person on the planet will work microwaves around the clock. Scientists have noticed that the rate of warming from 1987 to 2019 has quadrupled. The most common indicator of global warming is the average air temperature on land. The hot ocean causes more storms and disrupts water cycle, affecting floods, droughts and fires. Also, due to warming, glaciers are melting, causing sea levels to rise. Scientists expect that by the end of the century sea level rise will reach one meter, leading to the displacement of about 150 million people worldwide. Earlier, the UN reported that the level of the oceans is rising faster than previously anticipated, and this can lead to catastrophic consequences for all mankind.
