Ecological event “With nature in the heart”

Every child understands that nature is our shared home, which gives us life from an early age. Therefore, we must make every effort to preserve our nature, namely: do not litter, use its resources wisely, and be attentive to all living beings. We’re all children of nature, however not all treat it equally well. Nature needs constant attention and care. So, Oksana Kremin (head of the department of organizational and mass work of TRENCSY) held an environmental event called “With nature in the heart” for children from the Christian summer camp with the aim of forming an ecological culture, as well as protecting our smaller friends – animals and birds.

In the introductory part of the event, children deepened their knowledge about the rules of behavior in nature and discussed the names of plants listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
During the practical part of the event, the participants solved environmental problems and eco-crosswords, realizing the importance of their actions for nature conservation. They actively played ecological games: “Air-Earth-Water”, “Protect nature”, “Yes or No”, an environmental quiz “Do you know that…?” answering the questions, discussing the positive and negative attitudes of people towards nature and its consequences. It is vital to bring up a sense of kindness, love, responsibility, a humane attitude towards animals, and a desire to support them, and help those in need.

During the event, the youth learned information about the relevance of this topic. After all, ecological culture is the key to a safe life on the planet. The children understood that a long and happy life is in the hands of each of us. Multiply, protect, sort, and do not pollute – these are the keywords of the ecological culture of every nature lover.

The event was held within the framework of the project “Churches, religious and public organizations for the environmental of national minorities”, implemented by the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (head by  Alexander Bokotey) in cooperation with the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband NABU International ) under with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Auswärtiges Amt #AA_Kultur) project coordinators Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU)Nataliya Kulya(IRCEF).
