Natural diversity is under constant threat due to thoughtless and irresponsible human activities. That is why it’s important to develop a caring attitude towards nature and its resources from an early age. The famous philosopher Mahatma Gandhi said, “If you want a change in the future, become that change in the present.” For children from the summer Christian camp, Oksana Kremin (head of the department of organizational and mass work of TRENCSY) held a thematic environmental event called “My voice is for the protection of nature!” for children from the Christian camp.
The children learned about the actions that ordinary citizens can take to solve the problem of solid domestic waste. A landfill is a result of human activity, and therefore a person must be aware of the consequences of such behavior. They also played an interesting quest. All five teams successfully completed the task, gained new knowledge, and came to the conclusion that garbage poses a great danger to everyone, its disposal is an urgent need, and effective means of disposal are sorting and recycling.

The event was held within the framework of the project “Churches, religious and public organizations for the environmental education of national minorities”, implemented by the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (head by Alexander Bokotey) in cooperation with the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband NABU International ) with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Auswärtiges Amt) project coordinators Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
