Eco-Educational Workshop Inspires Young Students at Velykoroztitsky Primary School

Students of 2-4 grades at Velykoroztitsky Primary School had the opportunity to participate in an eco-educational workshop led by IRCEF expert and teacher, Natalia Stetso. During the workshop, they crafted eco-friendly owl-shaped soap while learning about different owl species and gaining insights into their behaviors and habitats in the wild.

These students had previously attended a summer eco-camp, both at the school and the Ascension parish of MGCE, which was also organized by Natalia Stetso. This prior experience allowed them to be well-informed about owl species, including their natural habitats, feeding habits, and reproductive methods. Consequently, the topic was not only familiar but also easily comprehensible to them. The students were quick to recall the knowledge they had acquired during the summer eco-camp. They eagerly absorbed the new educational material presented by their teacher and, in collaboration with her, crafted owl-shaped soaps that they could proudly take home as a memento of their learning experience.

The event was held within the framework of cooperation between the Interreligious and Civil Environmental Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) headed by Olexander Bokotey) and the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU BundesverbandNABU International), project coordinators  Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), and Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
