As part of the National Accessibility Week, librarians from the department of services for preschool children and students in grades 1–4 of the Transcarpathian Regional Library for Children and Youth visited the Medical and Social Rehabilitation Center “The Road of Life” with an educational eco-educational program.
The meeting was based on the puppet show “Water is the Basis of Life”, created using a special play set for the eco-theater “Discover the World with Us!”. The children followed with interest the adventures of the bunny Ladko and the hedgehog Yovshka, forest heroes who, through an instructive fairy tale, shared the secrets of restoring nature, talked about the value of water and the importance of caring for the environment.
The program was continued by cozy reading in the circle of friends. The center’s students, together with the guests, immersed themselves in the story about the bee Mellie, which reminded them of the harmony and spiritual beauty of the surrounding world. Such calm communication around environmental topics, complemented by a joint viewing of donated books, gave the children a sense of comfort, emotional recovery, and gentle therapy through learning about nature.
The event was held with the participation of children with musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders within the framework of the partnership of the Interreligious and environmental civil forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) with the Commission on Ecology of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese and the environmental protection units of the Churches, with the support of the Archdiocese of Bamberg (Erzbistum Bamberg).
