DAY OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN SYNEVYR NNP

An environmental and educational event was held under this slogan with employees of various offices of Synevyr National Nature Park with the participation of specialists from the Department of Environmental Education, dedicated to the Day of Environmental Education. Environmental education is one of the priority areas of the Synevyr National Nature Park and therefore this area of ​​work in the institution is given due attention. There is a separate department of ecological and educational work at Synevyr National Nature Park, which conducts a huge amount of educational events with schoolchildren and students, there are also ecological actions, practical events, and active environmental promotion through the media, exhibitions, seminars, etc.

The participants of the event got acquainted with the activities of the department. A particularly important area of ​​environmental education is working with children. Children gladly take part in ecological games, outdoor activities, and excursions. They know themselves, the world around them, and their place in nature observing nature. All this is combined with active recreation in the conditions of the harmonious spiritual influence of picturesque landscapes, colors, and sounds of nature.

The most common forms of activities are excursions along ecological trails and tourist routes of the national park, classes, seminars, conferences, ecological games, competitions, etc. Also, ecological and educational events and actions are systematically carried out on the basis of the objects of the nature reserve fund of Synevyr NNP, which allows influencing people’s worldview extremely effectively, using informational and emotional impact. Every year, many people come to engage in such events and actions within the national park. Young trees and bushes are planted, the territory of the park is arranged, exhibitions are organized, competitions, festivals, etc. are held by the joint efforts of the participants.

At the same time, systematic work is carried out with the local population and visitors to the park, developing cooperation with educational institutions, universities, public authorities, local governments, regional national parks and reserves, media, the interested public, and more. We are constantly cooperating with the territorial communities of the Tereblya Valley, with which we jointly deal with various issues, including environmental, as well as those related to tourism, education, mountain development, waste management, and more.

Thus, various ecological and educational activities within the territories and objects of the nature reserve fund of Synevyr NNP come down to the formation of ethical relations between man and nature, promoting ecologically balanced development, formation of ecological consciousness, and ecological culture of all groups of the population. Every time, both young visitors and adult travelers and mountain explorers are excited to meet with experts from the national park, who are always ready to share interesting information about the picturesque mountain region and fascinating natural, historical, and cultural locations.

The event was held in cooperation with the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (headed by Alexander Bokotey) with the support of the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband, NABU International), project coordinator Ivan Tymofeiev.
