CHILDREN OF IDPs LEARNED TO TAKE CARE OF THE FOREST WITH THE HELP OF A COLORING BOOK

On March 29, 2022, Marian Reipashi, a student of the Velykobereznyanskyi Sanatorium Boarding School, with his great talent in drawing, together with the readers of the Transcarpathian Regional Children’s Library held the next class for children of IDPs. During this event, they had the opportunity to paint the pages of the coloring book “The Carpathian Forest is your friend”. This children’s book is an effective environmental educational tool.

Children of IDPs who fled the horrors of war are engaged daily in the Transcarpathian Regional Library and it has become for art therapy, which affects the harmonization of children’s condition through self-expression and self-knowledge.

The event was held in cooperation with the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) with the support of the German Conservation Union (NABU).

Maryan did another volunteer work: he shared coloring books with the children of IDPs where people from all over Ukraine arrive all time.

Meeting storks at the Berehovo Public Center “Everyone Can Help”

At the Berehovo Public Center “Everyone Can Help,” eco-activists hosted an educational session for children focused on stork conservation. With the storks soon beginning their mass migration to Africa for the winter, the session aimed to raise awareness about the challenges these birds face during their long journey. Additionally, the session highlighted the plight of storks that, due to injury or other reasons, will be unable to join the migration and will stay behind in Ukraine throughout the winter.
