Eco-quest as part of the Open Door Day in TRENCSY

On September 22, 2022, an interesting eco-educational event was held as part of the Open Door Day in TRENCSY, during which children could play educational ecological and patriotic games. So, young nature lovers answered quiz questions and guessed animals by their tails, shadow, and sound. They did a great job with that task and showed everyone is worthy of the title of “Young Naturalist”.

Joining the global action “Peace Dove”, youth released birds into the peaceful and blue sky. Also, schoolchildren fondly pasted the map of Ukraine with symbolic paper doves with the words wishing for peace. At the end of the event, the participants went to the land of wonders and entertainment. Experienced teachers of the eco-center prepared various stops, where children tested their knowledge by playing cognitive games, such as: “Guess which plant this fruit is from” (Velychkanych O.M.), “Green pharmacy” (Pavko M.M.), “Know, love your country” (Kremin O.I.) and “Healthy food is the key to our health” (Strichko O.P.). They had the opportunity to make an eco-painting from natural material (I.S. Katrych) and a patriotic poster – “Children for Peace in Ukraine” (E.I. Kazarina). The children viewed the exhibition “Generosity of the native land”.

The event was held by the teachers of the Transcarpathian Regional Ecological and Naturalist Center for Students Youth (TRENCSY) together with the Interreligious and Civil Environmental Forum of Eastern Europe as part of the project “Churches, religious and public organizations for the environmental of national minorities”, implemented by the Interreligious and Environmental Civil Forum of Eastern Europe (IRCEF) (headed by  Alexander Bokotey) in cooperation with the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU Bundesverband NABU International) under with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Auswärtiges Amt #CivilSocietyCooperation) project coordinators Ivan Tymofeiev (NABU), Nataliya Kulya (IRCEF).
