AMAZING MEETINGS ARE HELD EVERY DAY IN THE OFFICE OF THE INSTITUTE OF ECOLOGICAL AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES

Today we were visited by our permanent partner Marta Mykhailets and her student Zhyzaryeva Daryna (10th grade of secondary school №9 in Uzhhorod). Daryna has repeatedly participated in various events and competitions. Daryna is a sincere and inspired fighter for an ecologically safe environment. One of the goals she sets for herself is to collect plastic lids.

Why should we collect plastic bottle lids? Garbage is recycled. This helps to preserve the environment and helps the needy (with collected money it could be used for the military to buy prostheses and other necessary things). American scientists claim that humanity dumps more than 8 million tons of waste into the world’s oceans every day. This household waste worsens the environmental situation and gradually makes the planet uninhabitable. But what to do with household waste?

Today, conscious Europeans collect about 90% of plastic, Finns – 93%, Norwegians – 95%. In the post-Soviet countries, such indicators are just the beginning. Containers for separate collection of different types of household waste can be seen in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. Today Daryna brought 5 liters of collected small lids and about a kilogram of big ones. They will also go for recycling in due course. The girl received gifts from the IERS as several new publications were published by IERS.
