Another environmental education event, organized by the Ecology Commission of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese, was also held at the Holy Trinity Parish in Uzhhorod. The participants were children and young people from the city who, through learning about nature, playing games together, and spiritual reflection, discovered their Christian calling to protect the world created by God.

The interactive eco-game “The Four Elements,” led by guest speaker Fr. Oleg Kobel from the Stryi Eparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, drew the most interest. The children enthusiastically identified different animal species, actively answered questions, competed in speed and attentiveness, and discovered the amazing richness of God’s creation. This format helped combine fun leisure activities with learning about nature and fostering a responsible attitude toward it.

During the meeting, Father Oleg Kobel also presented his collection of ecological fairy tales. He recounted the story behind their creation and shared his thoughts on how literature can foster a love of nature, gratitude to God for His gifts, and an understanding that caring for the environment is an integral part of Christian life.

At the end of the event, all participants received themed stickers featuring images of rare animal species and had the opportunity to purchase copies of the ecological fairy tales autographed by the author and speak with him in person.

Such initiatives help children and young people realize that love for God is inextricably linked to love for His creation. Through experiencing the beauty of nature, shared activities, and spiritual reflection, participants learn to treat the environment responsibly and to see in it a priceless gift from the Creator.
