Children took part in installing a bat box in the attic of a church in Berehovo

Volunteers from the “Everyone Can Help” public center recently organized an enriching visit to the historic Roman Catholic Church in Berehovo for children and their parents. The Berehove Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, one of the oldest buildings in Transcarpathia, stands as a gem of Ukraine’s historical heritage and an architectural monument of national importance. The primary aim of the visit was to educate the locals about the biodiversity of the church towers and to install a bird box in the church’s attic. Leonid Pokrytyuk, an IRCEF expert, led the tour, providing fascinating insights into the various animals that inhabit churches and the reasons they choose these structures as their homes.
